I don't know how old or new this app is, but I saw somebody post a screen shot on instagram & I had to download it. The app is called My Fitness Pal, and it helps you stay on track for losing (or gaining) weight. When you first download it & sign up, you fill out a questionnaire about your weight goals. When finished signing up, you're brought to this:


This is the main page where you track your food intake and exercise. When you fill out the questionnaire, you set your goal weight and the app will give you a certain number of calories, fat, sugar, ect. you can intake per day.


This is the food tab where you can add foods and see your totals compared to your goal numbers. I really didn't have 3 square meals on Monday, so I didn't meet my goals (except I went over on sugar intake, oops!).


This is where you can control your workouts. This section will be empty this week because I won't be working out until I get back to school. When I do start exercising and tracking it, I will update ya'll on how it looks!


This is where you check your progress, chart style. My goal is to get to at least 145 pounds by Spring break so I can look good in shorts and a bathing suit! You also have a newsfeed where you can post status updates, you can have friends on here to encourage each other & even send messages. I'm working on getting my workout buddies to get the app so we can stay strong in the journey together.

I'm a sophomore in college, so I am past the "Freshman 15 stage". Before entering college, I was scared of the freshman 15. I had just lost weight & I definitely did not want to gain it back. Were the rumors of this ferocious "Freshman 15" true? For some people in my class, yes it was true. As for me, I'm a very picky eater and I get full fast, so I really wasn't pigging out at the dining halls. I had 11 meals a week & I never used all of them. Fast food on the other hand, I used to live in Chick Fil A. It was my weakness, those nuggets and fries. But a year later, it's gotten old to me since I ate it so much last year. Another thing that helped me keep weight off was walking around campus. As a freshman, you walk EVERYWHERE, especially if you don't have a car. Every time I would come home on break I would hear "You're getting smaller!" from at least one person. Well coming home for the summer, the weight crept back & this past semester I didn't do anything to stop it or lose it. So it's a new year (I know the whole cliché) but it' getting real. I need to shed these few pounds! So hopefully this app will really guide me & motivate me to get fine & fit!
